AnnexGroup supports migrating data from Microsoft Exchange and Outlook.

Supported sources

  • EWS: Exchange Web Services (on premises, and Exchange Online with an app registration)
  • Microsoft Graph: the modern API for Exchange Online / Microsoft 365
  • PST/OST files: Outlook data files, through pffexport

Migration assistant

  1. Go to Import / Migration → Migration assistant (/access/import/wizard).
  2. Choose the source:
    • IMAP (Exchange or Office 365 IMAP access)
    • Microsoft Graph (Exchange Online / Microsoft 365)
  3. Enter the credentials for the chosen source.
  4. Map each source mailbox to an existing AnnexGroup user.
  5. Start the migration and follow its progress on the dashboard.

Experienced administrators can alternatively start individual jobs or bulk imports through the API, under Import / Migration.

What is migrated?

  • Messages including attachments
  • Folder structure
  • Contacts
  • Calendar entries
  • Tasks (where the source supports them)

Exchange ActiveSync (EAS)

AnnexGroup provides an EAS endpoint at /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync. The OPTIONS handshake, authentication and the WBXML commands Sync, Ping and GetItemEstimate are implemented. Full command coverage will follow in a later release.

Before you migrate

  • Check the licensed number of active users.
  • Make sure there is enough room in the blob storage.
  • Enable the retention policy if data is to be time-limited for GDPR reasons.
