AnnexGroup supports migrating data from Microsoft Exchange and Outlook.
Supported sources
- EWS: Exchange Web Services (on premises, and Exchange Online with an app registration)
- Microsoft Graph: the modern API for Exchange Online / Microsoft 365
- PST/OST files: Outlook data files, through
pffexport
Migration assistant
- Go to Import / Migration → Migration assistant (
/access/import/wizard). - Choose the source:
- IMAP (Exchange or Office 365 IMAP access)
- Microsoft Graph (Exchange Online / Microsoft 365)
- Enter the credentials for the chosen source.
- Map each source mailbox to an existing AnnexGroup user.
- Start the migration and follow its progress on the dashboard.
Experienced administrators can alternatively start individual jobs or bulk imports through the API, under Import / Migration.
What is migrated?
- Messages including attachments
- Folder structure
- Contacts
- Calendar entries
- Tasks (where the source supports them)
Exchange ActiveSync (EAS)
AnnexGroup provides an EAS endpoint at /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync. The OPTIONS handshake, authentication and the WBXML commands Sync, Ping and GetItemEstimate are implemented. Full command coverage will follow in a later release.
Before you migrate
- Check the licensed number of active users.
- Make sure there is enough room in the blob storage.
- Enable the retention policy if data is to be time-limited for GDPR reasons.
