Licence management

AnnexGroup uses a local licence management without phone-home. The licence is stored on the server and validated with an Ed25519 public key.

Trial licence

On first start the server automatically creates a 14-day trial licence. It allows the full feature set for the trial period.

Applying a purchased licence

1. In the administration, switch to License.
2. Paste the licence text you received from ma-kom.
3. Save the licence.

The licence contains:

• Product and version
• Validity period
• Maximum number of users and domains
• Unlocked features

Accounts and AnnexOffice seats

The licence sets two hard limits: the number of accounts and the number of AnnexOffice seats. Both are part of the activation code.

• When the quota is reached, the server refuses to create further accounts — via the web interface as well as the API.
• On the licence page of the administration you see under AnnexOffice seats who occupies a seat, and you release it with one click.
• A new licence code raises the limits immediately.
• If all seats are occupied, mail via IMAP and SMTP keeps working — the limit applies to AnnexOffice, not to mail traffic.

Licence expiry

When the licence expires, write operations of the admin and certain user APIs are blocked. Receiving (SMTP/IMAP) and read access continue so that mail traffic is not interrupted.

The start page shows a warning when the licence expires in less than 14 days.
